At Christmas and in summer the groups enjoys a meal out together. The group is intended to be a place of friendship, fun and support for ladies living in the Woolston area. Many of those who attend also attend church regularly, but you don’t need to attend church to join the Ladies’ Group.
A group who meet monthly for fellowship and friendship, on a Wednesday afternoon in the Mission Hall. There is always a speaker, or occasionally an activity such as bingo. Speakers come from local charities, and will often share a story of how the charity has made a difference in their own life. Refreshments are served.
Each year we run a course called Alpha. It is for anyone who would like to explore life and faith. Alpha is free. It is informal, with each evening including a short video and time to ask lots of questions. Our next Alpha course will be advertised here on our website and on our Facebook page.
We are a collection point for Warrington Foodbank. They are always in need of tinned and long-life packaged food items, and are regularly short of long-life fruit juice, tinned meat and fish, evaporated milk, jam, tinned vegetables, instant mashed potato, tinned fruit, angel delight, custard and sandwich paste. They are also able to accept toiletries for men, women and children. The Foodbank always has plenty of soup, pasta and baked beans. You can place your donation in the box in the church porch.
Throughout the year we hold a number of activities including a giant Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Craft Afternoon, Carol Service, BBQs, and a Summer Market. We often work in partnership with other local organisations to run these events, including the PTA of Woolston C of E Primary School. Events are always advertised on a calendar and also on our Facebook page.
The Woolston Branch of the Women’s Institute meet on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7.30pm in The Mission Hall. Woolston WI is an extremely popular and busy branch of the WI. Members enjoy regular talks, activities and trips out together.
