Warrington East Team
The Ascension is connected with three other churches in East Warrington.
The Transfiguration, Birchwood
The Transfiguration is also in our large united parish of Birchwood and Woolston. We have a particular responsibility to plant a new worshiping congregation at this church, and to work with Birchwood C of E Primary School who we share a building with. We also have a number of outreach and community events based at The Transfiguration, including Messy Church, EAT (a community café) and a monthly quiz night.
Find out more about The Transfiguration on their Facebook page:
Christ Church, Padgate
Christ Church is the oldest church in the team and was responsible for planting a Mission here in Woolston, which later became The Ascension. Rev Neil Shaw is the Team Rector and has responsibility for Christ Church, along with oversight for the Warrington East Team.
The Resurrection, Cinnamon Brow
The Resurrection, Cinnamon Brow also shares its building with St Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church. Rev Tracey McLaughlin is the Team Vicar with responsibility for The Resurrection.
With the other three churches in the Warrington East Team we share in occasional services, study groups at Advent and Lent, run a baptism preparation course, and our clergy provide cover for each other’s holidays.
